Isolating the Wrist

In combination with the exercise I demonstrated in my last post, I often do these wrist movements. Starting linearly, then moving into circles, this is harder than it looks (at least for me) but my wrists and forearms feel great afterwards! The key is to keep the the elbow fixed in space, along with the hand — imagine that you are holding onto a narrow railing with your hand, so the wrist is the part of your arm that is driving the movement. Here I demonstrate this movement against resistance, but you can do it without, or change the direction that the resistance is pulling.

The next time you take a break from typing or texting, do a few of these. Enjoy!
