Changes!

Changes 1.png

It has been a LONG, LONG time since my last blog post, and for that, I sincerely apologize!  But that time has been spent learning and discovering, and I’ve come to realize that some changes are in order.

When I began this site, I had just finished training in biomechanics and was intensely focused on how improving alignment and mechanics can cause improvements in health and movement.  While my appreciation of alignment has not changed, I have spent the past 2.5 years delving into the nervous system.  Through my studies with Z-Health® Performance Solutions, located in Tempe, I now understand the incredible role that the nervous system plays in our movement and alignment, and when working with clients I integrate this information into my teaching and analysis of movement.

(More on that to come in future posts!)

What that means right now is that my original business name “Align: Movement for Health” no longer accurately describes what I do.  So, I would like to present you with my new name “Synapse in Motion,” where I work with you on “improving movement through neural integration.”  Still the same me, still great information, just a slightly different focus!

Also, with the update of my website and getting back into a regular blogging habit, I have moved my blog subscriptions to MailChimp.  I’ve been working with this subscription system for awhile as a part of my work at Kinesphere Center for Movement Education, and I have been very pleased with how user-friendly the process is.  For this post, you should receive two email notifications, one Sunday evening (7/9) from Feedburner and one Monday morning (7/10) from MailChimp (check your junk folder just in case and add MailChimp to your address book if necessary).  After today all email notifications of my blog posts will be sent solely by MailChimp.  You should still only receive emails when I have posted a new blog (hopefully monthly!), but if something is not working, please let me know!

So enjoy exploring the new site – the content has been slightly updated – and look out for a new blog post in a few weeks!
